Traffic cameras
Tacoma traffic cameras
A visual check on the roads before you drive. Filter by route, then load only the views you need — useful for checking rain, backups or a Tacoma Dome event exit.
Camera viewer
Filter by route. Images load as they come into view.
How to use camera views well
- Check two or three cameras along your route rather than a single point.
- Pair a camera view with the alerts and flow readings on the traffic page — a clear image does not rule out a closure ahead.
- In winter, camera views are the fastest way to see standing water, slush or snow on the pavement.
- Snapshots are timed by WSDOT, not by this site, so treat them as recent rather than instantaneous.
Traffic, camera, travel time, mountain pass, road weather, toll and ferry information is supplied by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Tacoma Trekker is an independent Tacoma visitor guide and is not WSDOT, the Washington State Patrol or any official transportation agency. Conditions change quickly; check the official WSDOT page before you drive.
Camera questions
- Are these cameras live video?
- No. WSDOT publishes still snapshot images that are replaced periodically. Use the refresh button to request the newest snapshot; there is no continuous stream.
- Why is a camera image dark or missing?
- Camera images can be dark at night, obscured by weather, or temporarily offline for maintenance. WSDOT controls the cameras; Tacoma Trekker only displays what WSDOT publishes.
- Which cameras are shown here?
- Only WSDOT cameras located on Tacoma and Pierce County corridors inside the local area window, so a page load does not pull hundreds of statewide images.
