Tacoma Trekker is an independent guide built in Tacoma. Reader support pays for the unglamorous parts: verifying hours, licensing photography, hosting, and the hours it takes to keep hundreds of listings current.

- Licensing photography and original illustration instead of borrowing images
- Hosting, maps, the event discovery system and daily upkeep
- Writing Treks and district guides that are actually walked
What support does not buy
Supporting Tacoma Trekker is not an advertisement and not a listing. It does not influence which businesses appear, how they are described, or where they rank. Paid placements are a separate thing, always labelled Sponsored, and explained on our disclosure page.

You can see your monthly amount, your next payment date and your past payments, update your card, or cancel — any time, in a few clicks. Enter the email address you used and we'll send you a secure link to your billing portal.
Cancelling stops all future payments. Nothing is hidden behind extra steps and nobody will try to talk you out of it.
Who receives this money, and what it isn't
Payments go to Tacoma Trekker, an independently operated commercial business in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma Trekker is not a nonprofit, charity or registered 501(c)(3), and support is not tax deductible.
Support is entirely optional. Tacoma Trekker stays free to read whether or not you contribute, and supporting does not influence which businesses we cover, how they are described, or where they appear. Paid placements are separate and always labelled Sponsored — see our disclosure page.
Emails you'll get
Payment confirmations, monthly management links and payment-problem notices are transactional — they're part of the payment and always sent. Anything else is optional and only sent if you ticked the updates box.
Card details and payment data
Payment is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's secure form; Tacoma Trekker never sees or stores them. We store your email, the amount, the payment status and Stripe's internal reference so we can confirm your payment and manage your monthly support. See the privacy notice.
