Tacoma Trekker is a small independent guide. This page lists what we actually store on your device — nothing more, nothing invented.
Your choice is kept on your own device for 12 months. You can change it at any time.

Always onNeeded for Tacoma Trekker to work: signing in to the owner workspace or business portal, keeping that session secure, and remembering the privacy choice you make below.

Usage measurement
OptionalHelps us see which pages, districts, Treks and events visitors actually use, so we can improve them. This is our own first-party measurement stored in Tacoma Trekker's database — there is no Google Analytics, no advertising network and no cross-site tracking. If you decline, nothing is recorded.

Convenience
OptionalOptional conveniences kept on your own device: the places and Treks you save with My Trek, and remembering that you dismissed the Home Screen prompt. Nothing here is sent anywhere. If you decline, saving still works during your visit but is not kept after you close the browser.

What we do not do
- No advertising, retargeting or marketing pixels — there is no Marketing category because we do not run one.
- No third-party analytics products (no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording).
- No selling or sharing of visitor data.
- No use of your location unless you specifically ask for it. Accepting optional technologies never grants location access — 'Near Me' still asks your browser for permission each time.

These services are needed to show maps, typefaces and live official information. Their own privacy terms apply to them.
Mapbox — Interactive maps
Map tiles and map styling load from Mapbox on pages with a map. Mapbox therefore receives the request, including your IP address, and may set its own storage for map performance. Our maps are loaded only when you scroll to them or open a map page.

Stores our own content, form submissions and anonymous usage events, and provides sign-in for the owner workspace and business portal.

Live road, weather and park information is requested by our server from official sources such as WSDOT, the National Weather Service and the National Park Service. Your browser does not contact them directly, so they do not receive your details.

Controlling storage in your browser
You can clear or block site storage at any time in your browser settings — usually under Privacy, then “Cookies and site data”. Clearing it also removes your choice above and your saved places, and signs you out of the owner workspace or partner portal.
