    Next: Snake Lake is a short drive south-west.

    Walk

    Late morning

    An easy loop and boardwalk around Snake Lake.

    Next: Point Defiance is about twenty minutes north-west.

    Point Defiance Park

    Main stop

    Afternoon

    Gardens, forest trails and Five Mile Drive on a headland above the water. Five Mile Drive has vehicle-free hours — check the current schedule.

    Next: Titlow is about twenty minutes south along the west side.

    A beach, lagoon and trails under the Narrows bridges.

Notes

Wright Park is the oldest of the four, with a conservatory at one end. Tacoma Nature Center adds an easy loop around Snake Lake in the middle of the city. Point Defiance Park is the big one — gardens, forest trails and Five Mile Drive — and Titlow Park & Beach finishes the day on the water under the Narrows bridges. Five Mile Drive has vehicle-free hours; check the current schedule if you plan to drive it.
