McKinley Avenue and the Lincoln District are where Tacoma eats when it is not downtown. Start with coffee at Metronome, then Dusty's Hideaway up the street. Lincoln's South 38th and South Yakima corridor has a run of small teriyaki kitchens — Mama's and TeriyakiWok are both on the list — and most are counter service, cash-friendly and quick. Hours at small family kitchens change often; a quick call saves a wasted trip.
